Discover Guidance 46 by Amouage, an Exceptional Extrait for women and men featuring an extraordinary 46% fragrance concentration. Created by Quentin Bisch under the creative direction of Renaud Salmon, Guidance 46 revisits the original Guidance composition with greater contrast and complexity. Amouage explains that rather than removing elements from the original formula, additional materials were introduced to allow each part of the structure to stand out with greater power and definition.
Released in 2024, one year after the original Guidance Eau de Parfum, Guidance 46 is officially classified by Amouage as Floral Amber. Its Exceptional Extrait formula contains 46% fragrance oils and undergoes four weeks of ageing: two weeks of maceration followed by two weeks of maturation.
Top Notes
The fragrance opens with pear, frankincense, hazelnut, rose water, pink pepper and bitter almond.
Pear introduces luminous fruitiness, while hazelnut and bitter almond create creamy, nutty warmth. Rose water adds transparent floral softness, pink pepper brings lively spice, and frankincense provides the mineralic-resinous signature at the heart of Amouage’s identity.
Heart Notes
At the heart are saffron, rose, Sambac jasmine and osmanthus.
Saffron contributes warm spice, while rose and Sambac jasmine form a rich floral core. Osmanthus introduces a soft fruity-floral character with apricot-like and subtly leathery nuances, adding further complexity to the composition.
Base Notes
The composition settles into cistus, sandalwood, Akigalawood, ambergris, vanilla, ambrette, Georgywood and cypriol.
Sandalwood and vanilla create creamy warmth, while Akigalawood, Georgywood and cypriol build a deep spicy-woody structure. Ambergris adds radiant ambery depth, ambrette brings soft muskiness, and cistus reinforces the warm resinous foundation.
