Created by perfumer Quentin Bisch under the creative direction of Renaud Salmon, Guidance explores softness, warmth and woody-floral richness through a distinctive composition that Amouage describes as a novel interpretation of its iconic rose, frankincense and ambergris triad.
Released in 2023, Guidance is the original Eau de Parfum that preceded Guidance 46 by one year. Amouage officially presents the 100 ml fragrance at a 25% oil concentration, aged for four weeks: one week of maceration followed by three weeks of maturation.
Top Notes
The fragrance opens with pear, frankincense and hazelnut.
Pear brings luminous juicy fruitiness, while hazelnut creates creamy nutty warmth. Frankincense cuts through these softer facets with its distinctive mineralic and resinous character.
Heart Notes
At the heart are saffron, rose, Sambac jasmine and osmanthus.
Saffron contributes warm spice, while rose and Sambac jasmine create a rich floral core. Osmanthus adds a softly fruity-floral character with subtle apricot-like and leathery nuances.
Base Notes
The composition settles into cistus, sandalwood, Akigalawood, ambergris and vanilla.
Sandalwood provides creamy woody softness, while Akigalawood adds spicy woody depth. Ambergris contributes radiant amber character, vanilla brings smooth warmth, and cistus reinforces the resinous foundation.
