Discover Épices Exquises by Guerlain, a Unisex Eau de Parfum built around a compelling contrast between cool aromatic spices and warm, sensual woods. Cardamom, angelica and pink pepper introduce the fragrance before black pepper and coffee form its spicy heart, settling into sandalwood, oud and patchouli.
Guerlain Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser drew inspiration from the aroma of cardamom coffee offered to him during his visits to the Middle East. The composition recreates the striking contrast between fresh cardamom and pink pepper and the darker warmth of black pepper, oud, patchouli and sandalwood.
Originally launched in 2022 within the Les Absolus d’Orient collection, Épices Exquises was subsequently presented within Absolus Allegoria in 2024. The fragrance was created by Thierry Wasser and is positioned as Unisex.
Top Notes
The fragrance opens with cardamom, angelica and pink pepper.
Cardamom provides cool, aromatic spice, while pink pepper adds lively brightness. Angelica brings a fresh green quality that emphasizes the contrast with the warmer woody base.
Heart Notes
At the heart are black pepper and coffee.
Black pepper delivers dry, radiant heat, while the coffee facet recalls the fragrance’s central inspiration: Middle Eastern cardamom coffee. The effect is dark and spicy rather than conventionally sweet or gourmand.
