Master Perfumer Dominique Ropion selected tuberose as the composition's central flower, highlighting its solar, creamy, fruity and spicy qualities. Ylang-ylang adds warm yellow-floral richness, while jasmine sambac amplifies the bouquet's sensuality and luxurious amber glow.
The fragrance draws inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent's lifelong use of gold, a colour he described as “today's black” and repeatedly incorporated through buttons, chains, embroidery, lamé and eveningwear.
